Cal Mundell
Founder
Cal Mundell began his practice at one of the most well-respected personal injury defense law firms in the State of Texas, where he was mentored and trained by several of the most prominent, accomplished, and reputable attorneys in the legal community. As a defense attorney, Cal defended hundreds of cases for monstrous insurance companies, Fortune 500 companies, and national trucking companies, and learned the intricacies of personal injury litigation.
Cal consistently went head-to-head with some of the largest personal injury firms, not only in Texas, but in the nation, and learned first-hand, the strategies and techniques that won. As a defense attorney, Cal defended cases of all types, ranging from slip-and-falls and routine car wrecks, to multi-party fatality commercial trucking wrecks and catastrophic workplace incidents, where potential exposure was in the tens of millions of dollars.
After more than three years, Cal’s practice was at his peak. He had the most cases on his docket and was earning more than ever before. However, even under the best of circumstances, he felt as if something was missing. Cal did not feel fulfilled in the work he was doing. He remembered that he went to law school to help people, not billion-dollar insurance companies and corporations. Day in and day out, Cal saw how injured plaintiffs were being taken advantage of, were being outpowered, and quite frankly, were being bullied. No one likes a bully, and for that reason, Cal decided to take a risk, “switch sides,” open his own personal injury firm, and become an advocate for the people, the injured, the wronged, and the underdog.
Cal was born and raised in El Paso, Texas. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Texas at El Paso, where he graduated at the top of his class with magna cum laude honors. Cal then went to the University of Houston Law Center, where he again graduated at the top of his class with magna cum laude honors. While in law school, Cal was also inducted into the Order of the Coif and the Order of the Barons, honorary scholastic societies that recognize the highest possible level of academic achievement.
Since opening the Firm, Cal has recovered millions of dollars for his clients. Cal was selected as a 2024 and 2023 Texas Rising Star by Super Lawyers (Thompson Reuters) in the field of personal injury litigation, an honor reserved for only 2.5% of attorneys in the State of Texas. Cal is a passionate, aggressive, and tireless advocate for those who he is honored to represent. He believes that all cases, no matter what the size, deserve equal treatment, and understands that your case is your biggest case. All this to say: Have you been injured? Call Cal!
